Peridium 15–30 μm ( = 21 μm, n = 10) wide, thick coriaceous, comprising brown cells of textura angularis. Paraphyses 2–6 μm ( = 4 μm, n = 30) wide, long, cylindrical, septate, hyaline, smooth-walled. Asci 120–210 × 8–15 μm ( = 158 × 11 μm, n = 25), 6–8-spored, cylindrical, with a short pedicel, obtuse at the apex, apex with a J- apical ring. Ascospores 20–30 × 5–10 μm ( = 24 × 7 μm, n = 100), overlapping, uniseriate, inequilateral to fusiform, straight, rarely slightly curved, hyaline, aseptate, thin- and smooth-walled, guttulate, with a thick mucilaginous sheath.
